I was told by a guy at wonderful Petsmart that my baby is a three toed or an eastern box turtle, so I thought they were the same thing until I got home and started researching online. Can someone help me out? Thanks a bunch!

Looks like an eastern box turtle to me. All of the Terrapene carolina subspecies on the east coast pretty much require the same care. Gulf coast ones do get larger and are more aquatic, ornates like it a little drier, etc., but you get my drift.

EBT. But it looks like it is a little bit uncharacteristic of a typical EBT. The carapace seems a bit lighter than most.

Ditto the EBT identification. How big is he/she? Did you buy this at Petsmart, or just bring him in to id?

I bought him/her at a Reptile Expo in Pomona, California. She's about 2 1/2 inches long right now, so I'm guessing she's 1-2 months old?

I agree on the EBT as well.

At that size, it is probably older than a month or two. I would guess closer to a year.
