Amazing design! It is great to see people using their brains and constructing their own custom modifications instead of relying on the substandard products offered by the pet industry.

Not sure how you get your messages Breigh. Not trying to bug you. Sent this a few days ago. I'm not to computer literate......
Hi Breigh,
Sorry for the delay getting back to you but thank you so much for the reply.
Yours and your husbands turtle tank from 08 was "WoW" Seams that you started out with Plexi glass and then switched to another material. Was there a reason why or? I was planning to do one out of 1/4 plexi while only having the second story taking up less then half of my tanks top area. My tank is 18 water deep X 40" wide X 18" front to back. One of my design problems is there is a center glass brace support that runs front to back that's 10 wide. So if you can follow , the tank is 40 wide but has less the 10" top brace in the center which leaves me a right and left side opening of 15" each. The center brace is at a level that I could make the right and left sides connect at the brace making it literally 18 x 40 but its not like the turtles (baby's) are going to run around all over the second story correct? In fact did yours ever get the hang of your set-up from 08 and start basking? I have baby's in the tank and when they get to be around 4" long I'll release them to my 4000 gal backyard pond so my tank is sort-of a nursery.
Materials, Plexi did it work on yours or was it to thin? I was going to use 1/4 in if its a small just basking area with a ramp or 3/8 in if I get into something more elaborate. The second set-up you showed seamed like you were trying to make it a bit more natural looking or was it for another reason. Lots of requests for information I hope you'll stick with me on this project as I'm sure I'll have more if your willing.
Thank you very much,
Ron/

Hi,
I loved this idea and made my own copy of your basking area. I was wondering how you have the rock basking platform seated inside. Did you use a custom bracket and how did you overcome the plexigass corner?

im wondering what the paper background is called in the basking area that has been stuck on the wood and where i could order it from?
ALSO the platform is made out of that slimline stuff which i have located in australia however wondering is the background in the underneath tank 3d hard background or is it a paper stick on one?
also is the platform glued to plexiglass??
