I am getting a red belly slider, and i was wondering if the red belly slider and the red bellied cooter are the same type of turtle? I know it sounds like a weird question, but are they? This will help alot. thanks!

There are red ear slider (trachyemys scripta elegans) or Fla. Red belly Pseudemys nelsoni Northern red belly pseudemys rubriventris they have a superficial resemblance & same care but are different.

By simple vernacular, there is no such thing as a Red Bellied Slider. Only cooter.
