http://www.flickr.co...tream/lightbox/ Found this turtle on the Eastchester/Yonkers,NY border in the Bronx river. Im thinking its some kind of snapping turtle.Although central park and a few other places have them but not of this size. The picture dosent do it justice.

Yep, its a common snapping turtle. Judging from its shell, it was either wrapped in something or it was a pet at one time (with poor husbandry) and released.
