Wow! she's coming a long quite nicely! She's amazing!
What was her feeding regiment when she was small? I want to apply it to my box turtles, diamond back terrapin and map turtle. Thanks!

Hi,
When Snappy was young I fed her ReptoMin, cuttlebone, cut in very small pieces with the hard back removed, romaine lettuce. After a couple years I include some apple, squash, banana, and chopped boiled carrots(microwaved in water for one minute) and some boiled chicken and chicken gizzards to her diet. When she was 4 or 5 years old I switch from ReptoMin to Aquamax 600, which I could buy a 50 lb. bag for around $30.00, plus some citracal which is a calcium supplement that has D3, and vitimin supplements after the pellets got past 9-months old when the vitamins in the pellets begin to deteriorate.
I began to fed her every day a measured amount of food and recorded her growth and weight every month to make sure she didn't get too fat. At her second year I fed her every other day, increasing the volume of food as she grew, third year every three days, fourth year every four days and at five years old I fed her every five day, which I still do at her present age of 9-1/2 years old. Recently I dropped the chicken from her diet because she was getting a little too full figured. I'm still giving her the boiled chicken gizzards, there easy to put the capsules of calcium and vitamins supplements into.
Her food percentages are as follows:
Aquamax 600 pellets 39%, boiled chicken gizzards 4%, romaine lettuce 19%, squash, apple, banana, cantilope 30%, boiled carrots 8%. The voume of food depends on the size and weight of the turtle. Also very important is that dependent on the spieces of turtle, the type of food and the volume can vary greatly from the diet I mentioned above.
