Hey guys

Got these turtles from a fish aquarium where they were kept in a really poor condition.

Have currently kept them in a large tub with some shelter, large rocks, and some water to one side of the tub (the tubs kept at an angle)

They also haven't eaten since i got them 2 days ago, tried turtle food, corriander, lettuce but they wouldn't touch it. Heard they have to get adjusted.

PLEASE IDENTIFY THEM AND IF POSSIBLE TELL ME THEIR APROX AGE AND GENDER

AND IS IT OK TO LET THE ROAM FREE AT HOME?

THANKS

they are circled tent turtles. They cannot roam the house, they should be kept in a large aquarium, or tub (75 gallons or more). They are an aquatic species, which spend most of their time swimming in warm water, but should also be provided an area to leave the water to bask under a heat lamp. Where are you from?

the one pictured in your hands looks like a young male. It is impossible to know the age without knowing when they hatched, and since they were not cared for properly, even a guess wouldnt be accurate.

they may be stressed, if not housed properly, they will not eat. do you have them set up in water? warm water, about 8 or more inches deep?

Thanks for your help one of them has started eating, shouldnt be long before the other one joins in too

I have a few other questions:

1. One of the turtles is being a bit aggressive towards the other one, do i have to separate them?
2. Can i keep them along with other fishes?
3. Is it ok to keep them in water always?

If the aggression is bad, then yes, you should separate them. You can keep them with fish, depending on the species, but always remember that the fish could one day become food. They are mostly aquatic, but the do need a place to come out and bask. Even a small log, just as long as they can get their body out of the water, and bask under a heat lamp.

something like this would be perfect:
