Box Turtle Shell Rot !

I found a box turtle with what looks like to be shell rot. I want to help him, but I dont know how. What can i do for him ? How can help this turtle ?

I responded to you yesterday in another forum. Please see that reply and what to do. I believe this turtle does not have shell rot from your photo (however it's always hard to diagnose anything from a photo) but was previously in a fire or something was applied to or dripped on its shell causing the outer layer to come off exposing the bone. As I stated in my other post, this turtle should be checked out by a county wildlife rehabber or a vet to be on the safe side.

No, the outer shell will not grow back.
