I have a damaged erg incubating now and a nine month old hatchling, that's shell is a little over2 inches long, I don't want to put him with the adults yet as he is too small (it's the water-pool that is the main issue here). My question is would it be possible to house the 2 incher with a new hatchling if and when it hatches?

I would not and the reason is a larger turtle, even only an inch or so, can be aggressive toward the smaller one by biting, stealing food, etc. I would keep separate to be on the safe side.

Ditto, sizes do make a difference with aggression and turtles.

I am surprised that a 9 month box turtle is already 2 inches? That seems pretty large compared to the ones I have raised. Are you sure about the age?
