identification turtle Quarter sized water turtle help

I got him today from a friend who has had him for 2 years and he hasn't grown she said. He is a little bigger than a quarter. She said it is a quarter turtle, however when i google that nothing really comes up about a breed called a Quarter Turtle.

Looks like it might be a common musk turtle (Sternotherus odoratus). This is a relatively slow growing species and stays fairly small. Adults measure about 3 to 5 inches, with females being larger than males.
