  • Interests:I enjoy raising my current "zoo", one cranky RES, one Greek tortoise, and one basset hound. I recently finished culinary school, and plan on starting my own catering business someday.

Currently I have a RES named Yoda (thinking Yoda was a male, I found out from the vet that she is not!) I just thought it would be a cool name as I am a Star Wars nut.

My Greek didn't have a name for a while, we threw around "Greek" sounding names like Stavros, Mikos, Zorba....you get the idea. [icon_smile_big.gif
All of a sudden, a week or so after getting him, we just called him Godzilla. The name just fit, and it stuck. Sometimes now we just call him "Mr. G" for short. [^]

Names of turtles I had in the past (that have since passed on):

Painted named "Spike"
RES named "Thomasina"
and a RES named "Elroy" (yes, from the Jetsons....lol)

We have decided ahead that our NEXT turtle addition (and I do have my eye on a Forest Hingeback....) will be named Dr. Zaius, of Planet of the Apes fame. [8D]

PJ Looked like he had on red striped "pajamas" from the rear.[:I]
KO Almost "knocked out" PJ when I first got him by ploying into his side and flipping him over, then he did a slide into the water.[icon_smile_clown.gif
ET The "extra turtle" that I didn't expect to get.[:0]

AAAGGHHH! I read this and something just popped into my head.. there was a Simpson's episode that featured a musical version of Planet of the Apes... and one of the songs was Dr Zaius (to the tune of the 80s teutonic techno/rap hit 'Amadeus' also misconstrued occasionally as 'I'm a Danish')

I'm going to be humming that stupid song all day now I just know it... [xx(]

PS cute name!

The next one is gonna be named Bert from the famous public service announcement ("BERT the TURTLE knows what to do!") - unless he or she already has a name of course... [icon_smile.gif

Still don't know what the monkey's name in the clip... [?][?][?]

Cute! But I think the monkey's name was one of the famous *ITA names that someone keeps using - Nikita as in Khrushchev (it was a cold war cartoon ... red menace and all...)

You name them in a different language. Say your turt is crazy, in Spanish he would be Loco. Bad example maybe, as know little foriegn words. It does broaden the name list...

I have a three-toed that is missing a large part of his shell so I named him shell-bert. I originally thought he was a she and name him shelly. I quickly found out he was a male when he started to mount every female in the pen on an hourly basis. So the rest of my family and friends just call him hornball.
